DIRECTORATE OF LOGISTICS LIEUTENANT COLONEL HAJI ABD KADIR BIN HAJI MAHMUD Director of Logistics Lieutenant Colonel Haji Abdul Kadir bin Haji Mahmud.ato was born on the 22 January 1971. He started his military career when he recruited into RBAF on the 7 June 1990 and as a private soldier for five years. He was commissioned from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom on 13 December 1996 (CC961). He holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDA) in Defence and Strategic Studies from Massey University, New Zealand (2013). Lieutenant Colonel Haji Abdul Kadir is a Logistics and Ammunition Technical Officer by vocation where he has attended several logistics courses and ammunition technician courses in United Kingdom, (Foreign and Commonwealth Logistics Officers Courses in 1998, Foreign and Commonwealth Ammunition Technician in 2000 and Foreign and Commonwealth Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Improvise Explosive Device Disposal in 2001) and in Singapore, (Basics Logistics Officer Course in 1999 and Advance Logistics Officer Course in 2002), MAF Catalogue System Management For Officer in Malaysia. Lieutenant Colonel Haji Abdul Kadir has also attended other courses such as Company Commander Course (2009) in Malaysia, Battalion Tactics Course (2012) in Singapore and Junior Staff Course (2007) in Brunei. He has held various post as a young subaltern, he started as a platoon commander No 3 Platoon of Alpha Company of 1st Battalion RBLF (1997-1998), as Quartermaster of Headquarter Company Royal Brunei Land Force (1998 – 2001), Officer in Charge of HQ Ammunition Group Depot Logistics, Support Services RBAF (2001-2004), Staff Officer Grade 3 Logistics at Directorate of Logistics (2004-2006), Depot Planning Officer (2006-2009) of Logistics Depot RBAF Support Services. At the end of 2008, he was posted outside from logistics posts, where he has command the Charlie Company of 2nd Battalion RBLF (2009-2011), later from January 2011 he was served with the United Nation Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for nine months with the Malaysian Battalion 3 (MalBatt3), Lieutenant Colonel Haji Abdul Kadir is the alumni of RBAF Command and Staff Course (CSC), where he attended the CSC 2013. After attended Command and staff course he assumed post as the Assistant Chief of Staff Operation at RBLF HQ. Prior to taking up his current post on 16 Dec 2019, he served as Commandant of The Gurkha Reserve Unit from March 2017 to December 2019. In recognition for his service and with the consents of His Majesty The Sultan And Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Lieutenant Colonel Haji Abdul Kadir has been conferred with, Medal Pahlawan Periwara in 2018. Lieutenant Colonel Haji Abdul Kadir is fortunately married to Major (Rtd) Pg Hajah Asmiah bte Pg Haji Mohammad, and is blessed with 3 sons and 2 daughters. He is a sportsman where he plays badminton, football, volleyball, golf and he enjoy running too. INTRODUCTION Directorate of Logistics was established in November 1986. The Directorate is made up of a number of departments responsible for the full range of logistic activity:- supply, equipment support, housing and transport and movement.
The Directorate is responsible for formulating policy and Regulations
such as Engineering, Materiel and Housing. In addition the Departments
are involved in the day to day management of their respective systems
covering topics such as management of UET, provision of Transport and
Movements support, the provision and allocation of Housing, overseeing
the Force wide repair process, as well as responsibility for the
purchasing of SOP 20 items. As the managers of DEFLIS the Directorate is
introducing a world class integrated logistic system which will provide
a Force wide system giving us the capability to link unit QMs and LADs
direct to Logistic Depots and Workshops. The purchasing of stores will
become automated right from QMs and Stores Sections through to Logistic
Depots and DFP. The approvals process for items such as SOP 20 equipment
will also become automated. Ensuring the effective operation
of the Supply Chain through the accurate use of DEFLIS and Regulations
is a major task, with a heavy involvement in unit FFRs and regular
meetings with Service SO2 G4s. In the future this role is set to expand
with the creation of a dedicated audit team with responsibility for
ensuring that all logistic processes are fully understood and complied
with. The Directorate is also the focus for International
Logistics. It is responsible for negotiating bilateral support
