Calibration Centre - Intro
CALIBRATION CENTRE
Image may be NSFW. INTRODUCTION Calibration services were first introduced to Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in 1979 operating as one section under Bolkiah Workshop. As it gradually enlarged its services Calibration Section has its own building named Calibration Centre completed in 1992. The building is located and equipped with enforce features to minimal vibration to traffics, stable temperature and humidity control, minimal electromagnetic interference and an UPS to supply all the electrical needs of the building during a power failure. In 1996 marked the historic event and achievement, Calibration Centre was officially opened by the Minister of Development and the recognition of first ISO International Standard accreditation awarded by United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS). The Calibration Centre is owned and funded by the Government of His Majesty Sultan dan Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam through the Ministry of Defence. It is maintained to support the equipment of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence. To widen its services across the nation commencing 01 June 2009 the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) is pleased to announce that its Calibration Centre has open its services to all Government departments and to private sectors. Measurement Standard is necessary for industries, trades, military and science. For the Military, the reliability and accuracy of modern weapons and engineering systems is totally dependent upon the quality of precision equipment used to measure, calibrate, gauge, test or inspect these systems. The accuracy of the precision measuring equipment can be assured only through a programme of maintenance and periodic calibration traceable to international standards. The Calibration Centre is ISO\IEC 17025 accredited through United Kingdom Accreditation Services in the scopes of electrical and mechanical metrology. CAPABILITIES The followings are calibration services offered in the Calibration Centre. Some of the calibration offered may not be an accredited calibration but the calibration will be traceable to the standard. Image may be NSFW. GUIDELINE FOR CUSTOMER (Notes: All detail of each equipment should be provided. Such as Equipment name, Model, Serial number and Manufacturer as we require this information before we can quote the price) 2. Customer should reply once they received the formal quotation from Calibration Centre by signing the quotation with the P.O. The calibration work will be commence once Calibration Centre received the approval from the customer. 3. Customer required to fill the form *download*(refer to appendix 4) which need to be send along with the equipment to Calibration Centre. (Notes: Calibration Centre does not provide transportation for collecting or delivering of equipment to its customer site) 4. Calibration Centre will perform calibration only to equipment that has been agreed in the contract. Equipment coming-in faulty will not be accepted. 5. The turn-round time or the completion of job for established measurement shall take no longer than one month but subjected to the current workload and nature of work. 6. Cancellation of order after the execution of work is liable to charges of up to 30% from quoted price. 7. Equipment will not be released to customer until full payment of services has been paid (Customer need to get the invoices which will be provided by the Calibration Centre once the equipment is calibrated). However, companies which have strong financial position or good funding reputation are an exception. 8. The equipment leaving Calibration Centre is fully calibrated. Once leaving Calibration Centre it is not guarantee the item is still complying with specification. These are due to factors such as environmental condition, short term drift and stability. However, if the equipment is proved not complying with its specification by reason of faulty workmanship Calibration Centre under its own discretion will check and re-calibrate the item for free. DEFENCE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY UNIT Image may be NSFW. LIEUTENANT COLONEL CASLINDAWATI SAMIL Lieutenant Colonel Caslindawati Samil is the Head of Defence Information Technology Unit (DITU), Ministry of Defence. She was enlisted in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) as a potential officer cadet in August 2000 and undergone basic recruit training at the Training Institute RBAF. In 2001, she undergone the officer cadet training and was graduated from the Officer Cadet School of SAFTI MI Singapore. She was the Logistic Staff Officer Grade 3 at the Support Service RBAF in 2002 until she was the DITU’s Project Officer in 2004. Her initial IT career in RBAF was the responsibility for the creation of Brunei MINDEF website in collaboration with the Brunei MINDEF Public Relation Office and managed the transition of Brunei MINDEF C2 system with the RBAF Joint Operation Centre which was under the Directorate of Operations. In 2006, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Chevening Scholarship and doing her Master of Science (MSc) in Managing Information Technology (MIT) from University of Salford, United Kingdom. Immediately after graduated for her postgraduate, she was assigned as the Project Officer at the Force Capability Defence Unit (FCDU) under the RBAF Commander Secretariat Office in 2007. She was responsible to the Director of FCDU in coordinating the RBAF strategic projects relating to information technology. She was assigned as the Technical Manager of DITU in 2009, responsible for the implementation and management of Brunei MINDEF’s e-Government projects. In 2011, she was the Research Officer at the Directorate of Intelligence and witnessed the transition of security section in the directorate onto a MINDEF Defence Security Branch (DSB) in early 2012. After the completion of the security role, on 1 July 2012 she was assigned back to DITU as the Head of the Unit. She is responsible to the Brunei MINDEF CIO for the implementation of the Brunei MINDEF IT Strategy and Policy. She lead DITU establishment in accomplishing the unit mission and she is responsible for managing the day to day technical and operational issues of DITU. As the Head of DITU, she focus on DITU performance issues by making sure the Brunei MINDEF IT system is up and running as well as ensuring the technical staff are doing their jobs Lieutenant Colonel Caslindawati Samil is married to Azlan Udan and is blessed with 3 children. She enjoys riding her two wheels vehicle and golf. HISTORY Defence Information Technology Unit (DITU), also known as Unit Teknologi Maklumat Pertahanan (UTMP) was officially launched on 9 July 2002 by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Zakaria bin Datu Mahawangsa Haji Sulaiman. It was inaugurated in Block 232 Bolkiah Camp. DITU provides services and facilities in terms of providing computer equipments, repairing and checking of computers and providing networks that could be in the form of Intranet and Internet networks.

SYARAT-SYARAT KELAYAKAN DAN KEMASUKAN BAGI PENGAMBILAN BAKAL PEGAWAI KADET LELAKI DAN WANITA ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI Berikut adalah syarat-syarat kategori dan kemasukan bagi yang berminat untuk menceburi Kerjaya Tentera sebagai Bakal Pegawai Kadet Lelaki dan Wanita Pengambilan Pegawai Kadet Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei. Syarat-Syarat Kategori Pemohon yang berminat untuk menceburi kerjaya tentera hendaklah terdiri daripada dua kategori yang telah ditetapkan. 1. Syarat-Syarat Kemasukan Pemohon yang berminat untuk menceburi kerjaya tentera mestilah memenuhi syarat-syarat kemasukan yang telah di tetapkan sepertimana yang dihuraikan di bawah ini. 1. Taraf Kelamin. Pemohon hendaklah berstatus Bujang, belum pernah berkahwin dan tidak mempunyai anak. 2. Umur. Pemohon hendaklah berumur di antara 18 tahun sehingga 28 tahun 0 bulan 0 hari (semasa bermulanya tarikh Badan Penauliahan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei dilaksanakan). 3. Ketinggian Badan. Pemohon hendaklah mempunyai ketinggian 160cm (05 Kaki 03 Inci) bagi bakal Pegawai Kadet Lelaki dan 152cm (05 Kaki) bagi bakal Pegawai Kadet Wanita. 4. Indek Jisim Tubuh (Body Mass Index). Pemohon hendaklah mempunyai keputusan Indek Jisim Tubuh antara 19 hingga 27. 5. Kelayakan Akademik. Kelayakan minima bagi pemohon adalah Diploma Tertinggi Kebangsaan (HND) di dalam apa jua bidang yang diceburi. Kelayakan Akademik yang lebih tinggi adalah menjadi keutamaan seperti Sarjana Muda (Degree) dan Sarjana (Master). 6. Tahap Kesihatan. Pemohon dikehendaki untuk mengisi Borang Deklarasi Kesihatan dan akan menjalani pemeriksaan kelayakan kesihatan sebelum mengikuti proses pemilihan awal. Pemohon hendaklah sihat dan tidak cacat anggota, tidak mempunyai masalah kesihatan seperti penyakit kronik, masalah pernafasan, masalah jantung, masalah mental serta bekas kecederaan teruk seperti patah pada bahagian anggota tubuh badan dan sebagainya. Tidak cacat pendengaran dan penglihatan serta tidak rabun warna. Mempunyai tahap kesihatan gigi yang baik. 7. Tapisan Keselamatan. Setiap pemohon hendaklah bebas daripada sebarang kesalahan awam atau jenayah, tidak pernah disabit atau diadu, tidak pernah terlibat dengan mana-mana kesalahan yang melibatkan agensi luar seperti Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, Mahkamah Awam dan Syariah, Biro Kawalan Narkotik, Biro Mencegah Rasuah dan sebagainya. Setiap pemohon akan menjalani Tapisan Keselamatan (Security Vetting) dan Ujian Air Kencing (UAK) yang akan dikendalikan oleh pihak ABDB. Proses Pemilihan Pemohon yang telah memenuhi syarat-syarat kategori dan kemasukan akan dipanggil bagi mengikuti Proses Pemilihan sepertimana yang dihuraikan di bawah ini. 1. Ujian Ketahanan Jasmani. Badan Penauliahan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei merupakan satu badan yang bersidang dalam pemilihan Bakal Pegawai Kadet Lelaki dan Wanita yang dikendalikan dalam jangkamasa 04 hingga 05 hari. Beberapa fasa akan dilaksanakan seperti Suitability For Training, Ability To Think Rationally and Critically, Ability To Lead. 4. Pemeriksaan PULHEEMS. Pemohon hendaklah lulus dalam pemeriksaan PULHEEMS yang dikendalikan oleh pihak Pusat Khidmat Kesihatan dan Perubatan. Pemohon yang LULUS secara keseluruhannya dan yang telah DISOKONG PENUH oleh Badan Penauliahan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei akan mengikuti Latihan Pengenalan Awal dan tempoh Kursus Pegawai Kadet selama 52 minggu di Sekolah Pegawai Kadet Akademi Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei, Kampung Tanah Jambu.

Royal Brunei Navy CommanderImage may be NSFW. First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, PSPNB, SMB, PSB, MSc, mpat, psc, pwo, was born on 19 April 1970. He joined as a recruit in September 1988 and posted to Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) as a Naval Cadet on 17 March 1989 and attended the International Midshipman Course in Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth and graduated in 1990. Throughout his early service, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman had the opportunity to attend various courses abroad namely Royal Australian Navy Training Detachment on board HMS IPSWICH (1990), Midshipman Sea Training Deployment with Republic Singapore Navy (1990), International Sub-Lieutenant Course in United Kingdom (1991), Ship Diver Course in Malaysia (1994), International Principle Warfare Officer course in United Kingdom (2000), Staff Course in Pakistan and several courses attended notably Executive Development Programme (EDP) in Public Policy and Management Course in National University Singapore (2009) and attended the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College Course Serial 34/2014 with Masters of Social Science in Malaysia. First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman held various command appointments from Commanding Officer of Coastal Patrol Craft (CPC) namely KDB PEMBURU, KDB PENYERANG and KDB PERWIRA, also commanding one of the Missile Gun Boat (MGB) KDB SETERIA. Other appointments held include Diving Officer. He assumed as RBN Fleet Commander (2011). His staff office appointments were Military Assistant to Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces (2007 to 2009), Base Commander (2010), Defence Adviser of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia (2012 to 2013) and Head of Capability Development Cell (2013 to 2016). First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman was the Co-Chairman (Brunei Darussalam) of ADMM-Plus Expert Working Group (EWG) on Maritime Security together with New Zealand (2015-2017) During his chairmanship RBN had the honour to host the Field Training Exercise on Maritime Security and Counter Terrorism in 2016. On 6 March 2015, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman was appointed as The Deputy Commander of RBN before taking his current appointment as the Commander of RBN in 19 April 2019. First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman was awarded with Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia, Darjah Keempat (2008), Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia, Darjah Ketiga (2015) and Darjah Pahlawan Negara Brunei Yang Amat Perkasa, Darjah Pertama (2019). First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman is married to Datin Nazatulshima binti Haji C.A. Mohamed and blessed with 03 sons and a daughter. He is into swimming, jogging and enjoys reading. |

ROYAL BRUNEI AIR FORCE COMMANDER Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah was enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in September 1988. In 1989, he graduated from the Initial Officer Training (IOT) at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Cranwell, United Kingdom where he also did his Basic Flying Training (BFT) in the same year. He then went on to do his Advanced Flying Training (AFT) at RAF Valley in 1990, and the Tactical Weapon Unit (TWU) at RAF Chivenor from 1990 to 1991. On his return to Brunei, he flew the BO-105 helicopter from 1992-1997. In 1997, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah went to UK to do the Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) course at RAF Topcliffe & RAF Linton on-Ouse. On completion of the course, he was instructing on the then newly introduced Pilatus PC-7 MKII in Brunei. He became the Flight Commander Fixed Wing (Flt Comd FW) and later became the Officer Commanding (OC) of the Flying Training School (FTS) in 2000. In 2002, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah attended the 6th Advanced Command & Staff Course (ACSC) at Joint Services Command & Staff College, UK where he graduated with the Master of Arts awarded by King’s College London. On his return to Brunei in 2003, he held the post of Staff Officer Grade 2 (SO2) Operation in the Royal Brunei Air Force. In 2005, he was posted to the Directorate of Operation at the Ministry of Defence as Staff Officer Grade 1 (SO1) Operation and was responsible for coordinating, planning and monitoring all RBAF operations. He was then posted back to the Royal Brunei Air Force in 2007 to take the post of the Commanding Officer (CO) of Operation Wing where he was responsible for all the operational flying assets in the Royal Brunei Air Force. In 2010, he attended the National Defence College (NDC) in India and was conferred by the University of Madras, the Master of Philsophy (MPhil) with First Class in Defence and Strategic Studies. On his return from India, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah became the Chief of Staff (COS) of Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) from the end of 2010 to early Nov 2012. As COS, JFHQ, he was responsible in coordinating all the Joint Staff efforts in planning, executing and monitoring operations of RBAF and also combined operations with government agencies. This also included coordinating exercises with other armed forces. On 19 December 2014, he was appointed as Joint Force Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces. On 15 August 2015, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam bestowed the Darjah Pahlawan Negara Brunei (P.S.P.N.B) Yang Amat Perkasa Darjah Pertama which caries the title Dato Seri Pahlawan. Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah is married to Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd Aziz and is blessed with 2 children.

Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampoh,
P.S.P.N.B, P.S.B, MSc, MPAT, psc attended his Recruit training on 5 February 1990 and graduated as an Officer Cadet on 19 June 1991 from the Officer Cadet School, Waiouru, New Zealand.
Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed, held various Command appointments from Infantry Platoon Commander, 2Bn Royal Brunei land Forces (RBLF) to Commanding Officer, 2Bn RBLF and also several instructor post from Intake Commander at Recruit Company to Chief instructors at Training Center Royal Brunei Armed Forces which later known as Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Other than Command and Instructors appointment, Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Khairul Hamed also held several staff appointment; from Adjutan of 3Bn RBLF to Chief of Staff, Joint Force Head Quarters (COS JFHQ) and later appointed as COS RBLF after his promotion to Colonel in 2015. With his experience both in command, staff and instructor skills, he later appointed as Commandant of TI RBAF before he took the command as the Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) with effect from 31 January 2018. Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed is the 10th Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces. Throughout his service, Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed had the opportunity to attend various courses and studies within the country and abroad. Among courses and studies that he attended was Jungle Warfare Long Range Patrol Course in Training Team Brunei in Seria (1991), Platoon Commander Course in Pulada Malaysia (1992), Staff Duty Course in Port Dickson Malaysia (1997), Advanced Infantry Officer Course and Company Tactic Course in Singapore (2000), Army Advance Tactics Course in Malaysia (2001), Advanced Military Technology in Singapore (2004) and Singapore Command and Staff College (2005). Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed is a Graduate of Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College with Masters of Social Science (MSc) in Defence Studies, awarded at The National University of Malaysia (2014).

On 15 July 2018, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam bestowed the Darjah Pahlawan Negara Brunei (P.S.P.N.B) Yang Amat Perkasa Darjah Pertama which carries the title Dato Seri Pahlawan.

His Royal Highness was proclaimed as the Crown Prince on 10 August 1998. His Royal Highness was appointed as the Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office on 24 May 2005. His Royal
Highness was born on 17 February 1974 in Bandar Seri Begawan. His Royal
Highness began his education at an early age at the Putera-Puteri
(Prince-Princess) School in the Istana (Palace) Darul Hana. Subsequently, His
Royal Highness progressed through the Brunei Junior Certificate examinations
(1988) and the 'O' level examinations for the General Certificate of Education
(Cambridge) in 1991 at the Paduka Seri Begawan Science College. His Royal
Highness then proceeded to the Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College
and passed the 'A' level examinations for the General Certificate of Education
(Cambridge) in 1994. His
Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang
Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam bestowed the rank of General in the Royal
Brunei Armed Forces upon His Royal Highness on 25 March 2004 and also
presented the award ‘The Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila
Terbilang, First Class (D.P.K.T.)’ on 31 May 2004 in conjunction with the
Royal Brunei Armed Forces 43rd Anniversary. His Royal
Highness was appointed as the Chairman of the National Disaster Council on 28
June 2006. The Council is responsible for formulating a strategic policy
framework for national disaster management and the eventualities of disaster
events towards human life, property and environment. His Royal Highness is also
the Chairman of the National Committee Against Pandemic Influenza, a committee
established in November 2005, specifically for the purpose of formulating plans
to respond to the threat of Pandemic Influenza. His Royal Highness is also actively engaged in conducting working visits to various government agencies, financial and educational institutions, and local companies as well as visits to various mukims throughout the country. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah married Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Ab. Rahaman on 9 September 2004. His Royal Highness was blessed with princes who was named His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Muntaqim and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad Aiman and princess who was named Her Royal Highness Princess Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Faathimah Az-Zahraa' Raihaanul Bolkiah . Highness enjoys snooker and bowling as well as badminton and football.
His Royal Highness has also participated in several snooker and badminton
championships and has represented the country at the biannual Southeast Asian

COLONEL (U) MOHAMMAD MULUDDIN BIN AWANG HAJI ABD LATIF, MBA, MSc & DIC, B Eng (Hons) Colonel (U) Mohammad Muluddin bin Awang Haji Abd Latif enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in August 2000. In March 2001, he graduated his initial officer training in Trentham, New Zealand. Several months after completing his officer training, he was sent for his OJT to the 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and later underwent his Aerospace Engineering Officer training in Canada. As part of his engineering tour back then, he was posted in various Engineering and Maintenance Squadrons within Royal Brunei Air Force, including leading the No. 1 Squadron (BO105 aircraft Squadron) – now known as No. 52 Squadron. He was then posted to lead the Bell 212 helicopters and subsequently led Blackhawk S70A (No 54 Sqn) and CASA and CN235 (No. 55 Sqn). Throughout his career, Colonel (U) Hj Mohd Muluddin has held several important posts within the Ministry where he was Staff Officer Grade 2 (SO2) Maintenance (Plans) and later posted as Staff Officer Grade 1 (SO1) Logistics within Directorate of Logistics. He also held a position as Acting Director of Logistics in 2010 and later from 2012 to 2013, was posted to Directorate of Force Capability Development as Staff Officer 1 (SO1) Air Capability. In 2013, he was posted to the United States as the Head of RPP for the Hummingbird project and later returning in 2014, took up the position as Director for the Directorate of Force Capability Development. Prior to taking up his current post on 01 July 2019, he served as Defence Attache in the United States. Within his tenure, he had been heavily involved in project management, enhancement projects, military acquisitions, soldier modernisation and upgrades of RBAF assets. Throughout his service, he has attended many courses namely along the lines of aerospace engineer, defence acquisition and logisitics management course. The last course attended was the Executive Development Programme (EDP) in 2012. He holds an MBA (Strategy) from Nanyang Business School, a MSc & DIC Composite Materials 1999, from Imperial College of Science and Technology and Medicine, London and a B Eng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering and Management 1998, Strathclyde University, Scotland, UK. He was awarded by His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei 4th Class (Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia, Darjah Keempat)-PSB in 2016. He is married to Dyg Mariati Hj Kipli and blessed with four children. He enjoys keeping fit and playing golf. ******************** INTRODUCTION The Directorate of Intelligence is one of the three military Directorates within the Ministry of Defence alongside Personnel and Logistics. Prior to July 2012, this directorate was also responsible to oversee matters of Security before that function was handed over to the Defence Security Branch, Directorate of Strategic Planning/The Defence Minister’s Office.
The Directorate’s vision is to provide superior intelligence that would ensure success and effectiveness of any operations. In relations to this, the Directorate’s mission is to enhance strategic military intelligence capability of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence. ROLES The Directorate of Intelligence has four (4) major roles, which are: a. Provide intelligence services in a timely and accurate manner;
Roles and Responsibilities In supporting the directorate’s vision, mission and roles, the four branches within the directorate are tasked with roles and ressponsibilities as shown.
The Intelligence and Operations branch is responsible in: a. Acting as the information manager, to manage the collection of data and information to support and assist research tasks and security operations; b. Coordinating intelligence activities; c. Updating the Joint Intelligence Doctrine; d. Overseeing the execution of roles by units and sections under the Intelligence Branch which are the Imagery Cell, Mapping Cell, Intelligence Information System Cell and the Intelligence Operations Cell.
The Research branch’s major roles are undertaking research on defence and strategic issues, responding to information requirements from top echelons, and updating the Directorate of Intelligence information database.
With regards to the Foreign Military Liaison Branch, its main roles and responsibilities include: a. Acting as the focal point for corespondence and communications by foreign military organizations with MINDEF and RBAF; b. Planning, coordinating and organising visits by senior foreign military leaders for the Commander of RBAF; c. The branch also oversees the administrative functions of the offices of the Defense Attaches and Defence Advisers of Brunei Darussalam abroad. Brunei Darussalam has placed Defence Attaches/Advisors in nine (9) countries which are Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom, the US and Thailand. Intelligence Training Wing Intelligence Training Wing is responsible in designing, planning and executing training programmes in order to: a. Fulfill MINDEF and RBAFs requirement of sufficiently trained intelligence operatives; b. Maintaing acceptable standard of intelligence personnel ACTIVITIES Defence Diplomacy and Cooperation. The Directorate of Intelligence also contributes to the defence diplomacy and cooperation efforts at the regional and international levels. These are through its participations in meetings and gatherings such as the ASEAN Military Intelligence Informal Meeting (AMIIM) and the Asia Pacific Intelligence Chiefs Conference (APICC). The Directorate of Intelligence Is also an active participant in the ASEAN Militaries Analysts-to-Analysts Intelligence Exchange (AMAAIE) in Manila, Philippines and Jakarta, Indonesia respectively. It hosted AMAAIE just recently in May 2015 in Brunei Darussalam. Interactions from these Meetings are regarded as important platforms for confidence building and enhancing cooperation and military relations between countries. Recently, the Directorate of Intelligence, together with United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) had co-chaired the 8th APICC, held in Negara Brunei Darussalam, for the first time, from 6th September until 9th September 2015. The conference hosted participants from twenty five (25) countries from the Asia Pacific Region including the US, the UK, Australia and France, just to name a few. In the effort to establish and enhance networking with regional and international military intelligence establishments, the Directorate of Intelligence is also actively cooperating in bilateral intelligence exchanges (INTELEXES) with the military intelligence agencies of friendly countries. The benefits from these INTELEXES are two-folds, firstly, sharing of information and perspectives on the security issues of respective countries as well as security issues of common concerns. Secondly the exchanges promote closer defence relations with the partners hence enriching the defence diplomacy drive. The Directorate of Intelligence currently holds regular INTELEXES with the US, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. CONTACT US |

HAJI ABDUL MALIK BIN HAJI KAMIS INTRODUCTION Directorate of Administration and Manpower is the centre for management and administration of civil manpower as well as to provide support services to the Ministry of Defence in matters relating to Civilian administration, training and discipline, religious affairs and ex-servicemen affairs. BRIEF HISTORY Before Ministry of Defence was established, Directorate of Administration and Manpower (DAM) was formerly known as Force Civil Manpower Office (FCMO). In the 1970s, this department was head by a Force Civil Manpower officer and the main office was situated in Berakas Camp. The function of this department was to manage the administration matter concerning personnel in the Royal Brunei Malay Regiment. In 1983, the post for Head of Force Civil Manpower was later known as Civil Secretary under the Superscale 'C' Group. After independence and the establishment of Ministry of Defence in 1984, the Force Civil Manpower Office was administered by a Permanent Secretary. In 1986, the Force Civil Manpower Office was later changed into a Directorate and was renamed as Directorate of Policy and Administration (DPA). It was under the administration of a Director of Policy and Administration. The main office was situated at Istana Nurul Iman. In 1988, two Permanent Secretary was later appointed in the Ministry of Defence. Then Directorate of Policy and Administration was renamed as Directorate of Administration and Manpower (DAM) until today. This directorate is under the administration of the Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance). The main office is situated in the Ministry of Defence, Bolkiah Garrison. JABATANARAH PENTADBIRAN DAN TENAGA MANUSIA PENGENALAN Jabatanarah Pentadbiran dan Tenaga Manusia merupakan satu pusat bagi pengurusan dan pentadbiran Sumber Tenaga Manusia Awam. Antara peranannya juga adalah memberikan bantuan perkhidmatan sokongan kepada Kementerian Pertahanan dalam hal-hal yang berhubungan dengan pentadbiran Awam, latihan dan disiplin, hal ehwal keagamaan dan hal ehwal pesara tentera. SEJARAH RINGKAS Sebelum Kementerian Pertahanan ditubuhkan, Jabatanarah Pentadbiran dan Tenaga Manusia (JPTM) sebelum ini dikenali sebagai Pejabat Kerahan Tenaga Awam (PKTM). Pada tahun 1970, Pejabat ini diketuai oleh seorang Pegawai Kerahan Tenaga Awam dan pejabat utama terletak di Perkhemahan Berakas. Antara peranan dan fungsi pejabat tersebut adalah bagi mengurus hal ehwal pentadbiran kakitangan awam yang berkhidmat di dalam Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja Brunei. Pada tahun 1983, jawatan bagi Ketua Kerahan Tenaga Awam kemudiannya dikenali sebagai Setiausaha Awam didalam tanggagaji kumpulan iaitu Superscale C. Selepas kemerdekaan dan penubuhan Kementerian Pertahanan pada tahun 1984, Pejabat Kerahan Tenaga Awam ditadbir oleh seorang Setiausaha Tetap. Pada tahun 1986, Pejabat Kerahan Tenaga Awam kemudiannya diubah kepada satu Jabatanarah yang dikenali sebagai Jabatanarah Dasar dan Pentadbiran. Ianya ditabir oleh seorang Pengarah Dasar dan Pentadbiran dan Pejabat utama terletak di Istana Nurul Iman. Pada tahun 1988, dua orang Setiausaha Tetap kemudiannya dilantik untuk berkhidmat di Kementerian Pertahanan. Jabatanarah Dasar dan Pentadbiran kemudian telah ditukar gelaran menjadi Jabatanarah Pentadbiran dan Tenaga Manusia (JPTM) sehingga sekarang dan ditadbir di bawah pentadbiran Setiausaha Tetap (Pentadbiran dan Kewangan).
